iIt is formal and final; the new set of directors of the USTHS80 are – Reynaldo Espino, Fides Cayme, Nina Manlutac Rigor, Joselito  Sayson, Jose Navarro, Ma.Mercedes Meneses, Ma.Elizabeth Arevalo, Leah Militar Castillo and Rosa Marina Valenzuela Torres. Mr.  Amante "Teng" Aguilar will occupy a carry-over position and act as Chairman Emeritus.

Many times we balk at change.  We are creatures of habit and comfort and such reaction is understandable and expected.  However, change is a necessary function of life, thus, after two years from its inception, the fledgling USTHS80 AA held its first popular election to sit 9 directors who will form the Board of Trustees/Directors to guide and provide direction for the organization.

In our exercise of this function provided for and contained in the constituted by-laws, we upheld our legitimacy, showed respect for our small yet growing association, and displayed our trust in one another.  The election procedure was handled by Zorayda Ang, Chie Meneses and Anthony Castillo.  There were 26 nominees, and from this pool 9 were voted to man the board.  Regina Bautista Navarrete and Leonardo Riingen, who prior to the nominations requested not be included in the list, were part of the original nine.  Regretfully both had to decline due to increase demand for their time and substance from their respective profession and businesses.

The association expresses gratitude to these two for their selfless service the past two years.  Gina, for her level mindedness and inspiration.  Leo, for his leadership and for serving the association with distinction.  Taking their places are Leah Castillo and Maribeth Arevalo, both ladies have served in the previous board.  The final composition of the new Board of Directors have 5 former trustees and 4 new names; names that have figured in many batch undertakings in the past.

Again, the association expresses appreciation to the outgoing directors; for their pioneering contribution, for serving when they were called and needed.  And for the incoming ones; may they be fully armed to meet the challenges ahead with these two attitudes foremost instilled – to make this organization better through their example and leadership, fostering confidence and teamwork among the members, and to nurture that bold adventurous spirit that will seek out and seize new opportunities for growth and expansion, that we may better influence  the communities around us.  Mabuhay and USTHS80 AA!!!
