Jojo Sayson, Leo Riingen Awarded as Thomasian Alumni of the Year

The Outstanding Thomasian Alumni Awards 2006

For four centuries, the Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas has produced men and women who have been shaped and have lived the ideals, tenets and principles inculcated to them by the institution.  Many sons and daughters of Santo Tomas have reaped success in their professions as they explored the world outside the university, carrying with them values of excellence and commitment with an urgent sense of responsibility to contribute and improve society.

To seek out and recognize the achievements of these deserving alumni, The Outstanding Thomasian Alumni Awards, was conceived.  This prestigious award, the highest given to these noteworthy individuals, has become an annual event that continues to give inspiration to the entire Thomasian community.  This year, The Council of Alumni Presidents, chaired by Felino Palafox, Jr., staged the event.  It was held at the UST Central Seminary Gymnasium last February 17,2006.  As for this year's roster of awardees, we have Baltazar N. Endriga, chairman of the Screening Committee to quote: "The process of nomination and evaluation of many illustrious UST alumni was rigorous, diligent and painstaking.  We are particularly happy with this year's nominations, which, while not as numerous as we have expected, was of such high quality as to make our task somewhat more difficult but pleasant."
